What is a Success Center?
The Chaffey College Success Centers provide free
academic assistance to all students enrolled in a Chaffey
College class.
Who can use a Success Center?
Any
Chaffey students may use the Success Centers.
Where are the Centers located?
The college
supports four success centers on the Rancho Campus: The math
center, the writing center, the reading/multidisciplinary center, and
the language center. Students also have access to multidisciplinary
success centers at
Chino and Fontana.
Who works in the Success Centers?
Every Center is led by
a faculty member, an “Instructional Specialist,” who creates,
organizes, and schedules the learning activities. Each center is also
staffed by experienced, highly trained college graduates who provide
subject expertise in many areas. Instructional assistants and
apprentices provide tutoring services, lead
study groups, and assist with directed learning activities.
Are the Center services free?
Yes. Success Center
services are free to all Chaffey College students. The only
requirements are that students comply with campus policies regarding
Success Center use and show their Chaffey College identification card at entry.
There is a charge for student printing.
Are students required to use the Success
Centers?
All students are invited to
use the Success Centers. However, some departments, such as English, ESL
or Reading, have classes that require students to attend the Centers
for workshops, supplemental instruction, or directed learning
activities. Free tutoring is provided to all Chaffey College
students.
