Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Success Center?
The Chaffey College Success Centers provide free academic assistance to all students enrolled in a Chaffey College class.

Who can use a Success Center?
Any Chaffey students may use the Success Centers.

Where are the Centers located?
The college supports four success centers on the Rancho Campus:  The math center, the writing center, the reading/multidisciplinary center, and the language center.  Students also have access to multidisciplinary success centers at Chino and Fontana.

Who works in the Success Centers?
Every Center is led by a faculty member, an “Instructional Specialist,”  who creates, organizes, and schedules the learning activities.  Each center is also staffed by experienced, highly trained college graduates who provide subject expertise in many areas.  Instructional assistants and apprentices provide tutoring services, lead study groups, and assist with directed learning activities.

Are the Center services free?
Yes.  Success Center services are free to all Chaffey College students.  The only requirements are that students comply with campus policies regarding Success Center use and show their Chaffey College identification card at entry.  There is a charge for student printing.

Are students required to use the Success Centers?
All students are invited to use the Success Centers.  However, some departments, such as English, ESL or Reading, have classes that require students to attend the Centers for workshops, supplemental instruction, or directed learning activities.  Free tutoring is provided to all Chaffey College students.
