What is academic probation?
|
Probation is a warning system to alert students and counselors that a student is not being successful. For international students on probation, your visa status is affected and you may not be able to stay in the U.S.
Academic Probation: A student may receive a notice of Academic Probation on the official transcript when the student has:
• Attempted at least 12 units and,
• Earned a cumulative grade point average below 2.0, and
• Earned a grade point average below 2.0 in the most recent semester of enrollment.
Progress Probation: A student may receive a notice of Progress Probation on the semester transcript when the student has:
• Attempted at least 12 units, and
• Cumulatively received more units of withdrawal, incom plete, and no-credit than the number of units of A,B,C,D, or CR, and
• Earned more units of withdrawal, an incomplete, and/or no credit in the most recent semester of enrollment than the number of units of A,B,C,D, or CR, in the most recent semester.
