Purpose |
|
Reporting directly to the Superintendent/President, and working closely with the Department of Maintenance and Operations and in concert with existing college-wide groups, the GEM of the Valley Task Force will serve as a Think Tank/Advisory Board to the President, and indirectly to the college-at-large, regarding the challenges and opportunities that green sustainability presents the college. |

Scope |

As such, the GEM Task Force will research challenges and opportunities, submit Green Papers for the President in which the Task Force will make recommendations which advocate, and when appropriate take specific actions for the progress and good of the college with respect to.....our moral imperative as an institution of higher learning to take a leadership role in building and nurturing a sustainable and healthy environment for the future of our planet, the significant economic benefits of sustainability with respect to energy consumption, conservation, and renewable energy generation, the significant learning benefits for our students and our community with respect to new curriculum degrees, and programs focused on community outreach and education. |
